Go Back

Sunday, 11th October 2015

It is now just after three and we are in the Kantilena rehearsal venue taking a nap before our rehearsal in the church a bit later.

The Czechs really know how to make anyone feel like absolute royalty and we are feeling so loved and so spoilt that it is difficult to describe it in words.

The children all arrived in great spirits this morning and, despite some difficulties in communication here and there, are absolutely thrilled with their hosts. The adults are all together in a hotel and it is lovely for us to also have some time as a group.

This morning was spent exploring the Moravian Caves just outside Brno. Everyone was excited, because, for the first time, we really needed all our warm clothing accessories. Fleecy tops, red jackets, beanies, scarves and gloves were all being put to good use. It is difficult to describe the beauty of the caves, but I will put some photos on facebook a bit later. Suffice to say that it was a really worthwhile outing – we even went on  boats on an under-mountain river!

From the caves we walked up the mountain to peer down into the abyss that we also saw from the bottom up (130 meters away), where Markus met us and we enjoyed a picnic lunch before coming back to Brno to prepare for tonight’s concert.

More about today later tonight.
